19. Archie Towe was a sawmill man functioning as a sawyer. He had a tremendous sense of humor, always teasing someone. Once while cutting timber on Otto Cantrell's place he noticed Otto would take his rifle and disappear for several hours. He was questioned by Archie on his return to determine where he had been and *what* he had been hunting. He never seemed to have any game when he got back. One day while Otto was "hunting" Archie located the dinner pails hanging on their respective tree limbs. Now all these pails were 1 gallon syrup cans with holes punched in the tops for ventilation. They all looked alike. Archie ambled down to where the pails were located and switched the locations of his and Otto's. When Otto returned for lunch Archie began his cross examination. He told Otto that he didn't believe him. He told Otto that he couldn't hit any thing with that rifle betting that he couldn't hit one of those lunch pails. Otto took the bait and placed several holes in the pail that he knew to be Archie's. As they approached the lunch pails Otto reached for where he hung his pail and Archie stopped him. Thats my pail exclaimed Archie. After examining the contents of the pails Otto got somewhat angry realizing he had been tricked into shooting his own pail.
